Select Board plans Town Clerk succession as Carlson retires
Select Board · Meeting of August 3, 2026
RUTLAND — Select Board launches Town Clerk recruitment as Carlson retires. Chair Sheila Dibb and Board members unanimously voted to establish a five-member search committee to find a successor to Anita Carlson, who retires September 26, 2026; Carlson will remain through the November election to support continuity. The appointment converts the position from elected to appointed status to handle growing election administration complexity.
The Board also unanimously approved one-day liquor licenses for Rutland Sportsman's Club events August 7 and 14, authorized testimony to the state PILOT Commission on conservation lands, and received a $200,000 MassDOT grant for road maintenance equipment.
