RUTLAND — Select Board and Finance Committee jointly review FY2027 public safety budgets. Fire Chief Seth Knipe reported no new initiatives in the Fire Department proposal, while Police Chief Nick Monaco presented a level-funded Police budget except for contractual wage increases and requested additional Animal Control purchased services funding for emergency repairs. CMRECC Dispatch Center Director Mike Moriarty acknowledged missing final numbers due to the center's ongoing transition to a district model, pledging to return in March with complete figures; the district targets July 1st independence pending administrative infrastructure completion.
