CIPC rates DPW equipment requests; schools present emergency communication plan

Rutland's Capital Improvement Planning Committee scored four Department of Public Works requests and heard a school-district presentation on emergency communication systems. Chair Daniel Gracey and the four-member committee (Vice Chair Chris Borreson, Clerk Annemarie Govardhan, and member Adam Sarnik) assigned ratings to a $120,000 dump-bodies replacement, a $300,000 front-end loader, a $60,000 brush chipper, and a $40,000 tractor replacement. Superintendent Dr.
James Reilly presented an assessment and cost estimate for building danger alarm systems required by law in new schools but absent from Rutland's existing facilities. Dr. Reilly also identified future capital needs including potential facade and drainage work at Glenwood School and roof repairs for Central Tree School.
