Select Board approves early voting, calls May town meeting.

Select Board · Meeting of March 2, 2026

Rutland Select Board unanimously authorizes early voting for May town election. Town Clerk Anita Carlson reported the in-person early voting May 4-7 can be staffed with no added expense, and the Board called the Annual Town Meeting for May 9, 2026 at 6:00 P.M. at Glenwood Elementary School, with the warrant closing March 16 at 4:30 P.M. Town Administrator Heather Butler clarified that the town's override should be termed a "multi-year override," meaning only $3.1 million will be sought at Annual Town Meeting, with years two and three to be decided at the ballot.

The Board also voted 4-1 to remove the requirement for board and committee appointees to attend their appointment meeting, leaving attendance optional.
