Select Board · Meeting of June 8, 2026
RUTLAND — Select Board unanimously approved recommendations on three articles for the June 16 Special Town Meeting, including the Wachusett Regional School District budget with expanded warrant language clarifying the four-of-five-town approval threshold. Chair Leah Whiteman, board members Alex Mowatt, Harry Sechman, and Sheila Dibb (Paul Mattson absent) also approved a Home Rule Petition for Rutland Marketplace and took no action on a citizen's petition. Town Administrator Heather Butler reported that the Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector both resigned due to reduced hours in FY2027.
The Board declined to call a Special Town Election for a future override, instead planning to reassess strategy for FY2028.
