Rutland Select Board approves flood plain bylaw assignment, forest stewardship plan.

Select Board · Meeting of February 17, 2026

Rutland Select Board assigns Conservation Commission to lead flood plain bylaw and forestry management work. The town missed a July 8, 2025 deadline for flood insurance compliance, leaving nearly $1.2 million in town properties ineligible for federal coverage. The Commission will draft a model bylaw and scope professional forestry services, with potential grant funding available to offset costs.

In separate action, the Board unanimously appointed Town Administrator Heather Butler as ADA Coordinator and approved the lease request for proposal for the Franklin T. Wood House at 232 Main Street.
