Bylaw Committee positions Floodplain Bylaw in Chapter 7

Rutland Bylaw Committee unanimously backs Floodplain Bylaw placement. The committee voted unanimously to recommend placing the new Floodplain Bylaw in Chapter 7, Article 5 of town general bylaws, following the existing Stormwater article. The recommendation advances to a public hearing before the Conservation Commission on April 21, 2026.

The committee, chaired by Barbara Ruchala with members Kumara Govardhan, Lionel Carbonneau, and Mike Pantos, continues work on the Earthworks bylaw and Finance Committee bylaw revisions under guidance from Town Clerk Anita K. Carlson.
