Fourth of July Committee approves parade schedule and event logistics

Fourth of July Committee · Meeting of April 1, 2026

RUTLAND — The Rutland Fourth of July Committee approved the 2026 parade schedule and event logistics at its April 1 meeting. Chairman Ben Barakian reported an account balance of $38,128.83, with 30 donated port-a-johns secured for the two-weekend celebration. The parade will begin at 1 p.m., with judging starting at 11:45 a.m.

The committee discussed replacing the Lip Sync event--which has cost $650 in equipment with minimal participation--considering alternatives such as karaoke, cornhole, a family picnic, or a concert. A safety meeting is scheduled for April 14 to finalize booth placements and event details.
