Historical Commission approves prior minutes, plans Prison Camp info sessions.

Historical Commission · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Rutland Historical Commission approves prior minutes and advances Prison Camp preservation. Chair Peter Pasierb's commission scheduled two "Save our Structures" informational sessions for January 24 and 27 at the Blair Room, with Lindsay Maus preparing photographs and delivering presentations on the site's history, prior Department of Conservation and Resources demolition attempts, and preservation proposals including cameras, boulders, gates, and National Register placement. The commission committed to requesting National Register eligibility from the Massachusetts Historical Commission's National Register Director, Ben Haley, and tasked Michele Van Reet with coordinating inventory expansion through the Rutland Historical Society and the Central Massachusetts Regional Conservation Partnership.

The commission also registered for the March 22 Community Expo and tentatively scheduled a July 11 America 250 trivia night.
