Library board approves decertification policy, budgets $44,795 in town funds.

Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Rutland Library Board of Trustees approves decertification policy and allocates nearly $45,000 in town-released warrant funds. The board voted unanimously on the decertification policy and approved the children's director's report, with Director Kerry Remington submitting the director's report with revisions. The fiscal 2027 budget received $44,795.16, comprising a $36,000 warrant release plus elevator and town-voted funds, allowing the library to meet state certification minimums through reallocated line items.

The board also addressed a cable committee payment backlog--the cable provider's contract is under renegotiation--and began planning a 25th anniversary celebration for June 10, 2026, while addressing building maintenance issues including a rear light post repair estimated at $5,000.
