Finance Committee reviews FY2027 budgets for library, veterans services, recreation.

RUTLAND — Finance Committee hears FY2027 budgets for three departments in joint session. Library Director Kerry Remington asked the committee to consider a separate budget line for potential wage increases, including a proposal to expand the Assistant Librarian position from 23 to 40 hours; Town Administrator Heather Butler presented Veterans Services and explained the $12,000 library capital outlay as offset revenue from a Cable department lease. Recreation Director Corinna Frohock and Safe Place Director Sarah Galvin presented their entirely self-funded revolving-fund budgets, fielding questions about seasonal account fluctuations.
