Rutland Finance Committee approves January minutes, previews FY2027 budgets. Fire Chief Seth Knipe and Police Chief Nick Monaco presented departmental requests held level except for contractual wage increases; Monaco noted Committee support for a new officer approved in November and cited emergency animal control repair costs. CMRECC Dispatch Center Director Mike Moriarty presented preliminary figures for the center's transition to independent district status, committing to final numbers in March; Town Administrator Heather Butler will calculate comparative costs under the prior regional model.
The Committee deferred Finance Committee bylaw amendments pending a charter vote at Town Meeting and agreed to meet with the Charter Committee before proceeding.
