Events Committee approves DJ for summer send-off event

Events Committee · Meeting of July 17, 2026

Rutland Events Committee approves DJ for summer send-off; requests police billing clarity. All seven committee members present unanimously approved a $300 contract with DJ Dan for the Summer Send-Off event, which will feature Girl Scouts performing, a touch-a-truck from the Department of Conservation and Recreation, and DJ entertainment with limbo and hula hoop contests. Chair Jeanne Scigliano and Member Brian Green are pursuing written clarification from the police chief on billing discrepancies for the 2026 concert series police detail, including cost breakdowns for each event and whether eliminating alcohol sales would reduce the need for police presence.

The committee reconvenes July 20 to meet with the Select Board.
