Planning Board Approves Five Subdivision Bond Reductions
Planning Board · Meeting of August 25, 2026
Rutland Planning Board clears nearly $986,000 in subdivision bond updates and refers a floodplain bylaw to its subcommittee. Chair Norman Anderson's board unanimously approved surety reductions of $339,546.63 for Bryce Lemon Estates Phase 4, $231,077.25 for Brintnal Estates Phase 1, $129,803.95 for Phase 2's Quail Run, $136,077.15 for Phase 3's Bear Farm Drive, and $149,900 for Hilltop Estates, per engineer Kevin Quinn of Quinn Engineering. Members voted 4-0 to send a state-mandated floodplain overlay zoning bylaw to the Bylaw Subcommittee after the Attorney General's office rejected an earlier version.
A Brintnal Drive builder accused board member Alexander Maus of improperly calling police on his construction crews; Maus called it his right as "a citizen." Anderson shut down the debate, saying "it's not a planning board issue," and redirected future road complaints to the DPW director and police.
