RUTLAND — Finance Committee withdraws $25,000 legal expense reserve fund request. Town Administrator Heather Butler presented the request to cover anticipated invoices for the remainder of the fiscal year, but the Committee voted to withdraw it in favor of handling invoices as they arrive or processing interdepartmental transfers after May 1st. The Committee spent considerable time on Town Warrant review, expressing concern that laying off town employees while fully funding schools regardless of an override's outcome would be inequitable.
The Committee voted unanimously to recommend unfavorably on Article 21, a $12,000 RDIC re-appropriation request, instead directing funds toward Capital Stabilization.
