RUTLAND — The Rutland Conservation Commission voted unanimously to close a continued hearing and approve a wetland-buffer pipe replacement at 567 East County Road. Wetlands consultant Glenn Krevosky, representing applicant Anthony Macaruso, described swapping a 50-year-old corrugated pipe for reinforced concrete pipe with matched invert elevations, prompting member Timothy Keenan to withdraw an earlier call for outlet armoring, saying "I like the idea of not directly impacting the wetlands themselves." The board separately continued a certificate of compliance request for C.B. Blair Development Corp.'s 311 Pleasantdale Road project after finding missing riverfront documentation and an unrecorded deed restriction.
Members also reviewed photos of unstabilized soil stockpiles and sediment reaching catch basins at Blair's Brice Estates development, scheduling an August 8 site visit and requesting the developer's representative attend the August 18 meeting, with one member noting that once eroding sediment "is making its way to the wetland, well now it's in our jurisdiction."
