Last year's recipients included the Rutland Historical Society, the Rutland Public Library, Central Tree Middle School and the Events Committee.
The council typically meets two to three times a year. Applicants must be registered voters in Rutland.
Residents interested in joining can apply using the town's board and committee volunteer application and selecting "Cultural Council" on the form.
