RUTLAND — The Rutland Development and Industrial Commission awarded RFPs to two developers after fixing a scoring error. The RDIC voted 5-0 to award proposals to Harbor Classic Homes and Lilac Hedge Farm after correcting calculation mistakes that changed their averages to 7.73 and 7.53 from 8.88 and 9.04. Member Randy said he was "disappointed" by the errors, though they didn't change the outcome.

The commission also voted 3-2 to name Town Administrator Heather Butler, Town Planner Seth Knight and member Mike Sullivan as its negotiating team, after debating two other candidates. Harbor Classic Homes must post a $10,000 deposit within five days, starting a 30-day negotiation clock, while a pending Town Counsel opinion will decide whether a town meeting vote is also required under Chapter 30B.
