RUTLAND — Events Committee approves multiple 2026 initiatives and authorizes trash-grabber spending. The committee unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and authorized $50 for committee member Sam Green to purchase trash grabbers for Earth Day cleanup. Sponsors Gibbs is underwriting three concert series dates while Cornerstone pledges $1,000; a failed contact with an August 21 band necessitates approaching backup Silver String Band.

The Sock Hop drew $330 against $463 in costs with positive feedback, prompting plans for another dance next year. The Community Expo, which attracted 28 registrants, will relocate to September beginning in 2027 to mitigate weather impacts on turnout.
