RUTLAND — Conservation Commission approves prior minutes, discusses floodplain bylaw for May town vote. Barbara Ruchala, Chair of the Bylaw Committee, presented the proposed bylaw aimed at bringing Rutland into compliance with the National Flood Insurance Program; the committee made a favorable recommendation with no requested changes to model language. The Commission resolved to assist homeowner Michael LaPorte with mitigation after he cut hazardous trees near a wetland at 59 Bond Rd., requesting stump grinding and native plantings rather than enforcement action.
The Commission scheduled a May 2 site visit for Ridge Rd. (Lot 1) and 29 Prescott St., with both applications to appear on the next agenda.
