Conservation Commission approves amended wetland permit for Brice Estates development.

Conservation Commission · Meeting of January 20, 2026

RUTLAND — Conservation Commission unanimously approves amended permit for Brice Estates development. Chair Melissa Danza reported MassDEP confirmation to issue the amended Order of Conditions; developer Clea Blair, Jr., and environmental consultant Chris Lucas agreed to add plantings in the wetland replication area and accept a partial Certificate of Compliance. The Commission also amended language requiring SWPPP oversight reports from a "professional engineer" to "qualified professional" with five years' field experience, pending any stricter MassDEP conditions.

In separate business, the Commission unanimously issued a negative Determination of Applicability for a tight tank and well at 54 Finn Park Road, requiring erosion controls on a retaining wall.
